2D virtual office for teams

Your team's office
is a place again.

In KodaPlace everyone has an avatar on a pixel-art map. You walk up to people to talk by voice, share your screen with whoever is next to you, and the team gets its hallway, desks and coffee back — right in the browser, nothing to install.

WASD to walk · double-click to go there · E to sit

Three pixel-art avatars gathered in the middle of a virtual office, with a proximity circle, reactions in the air, a presence list and chat

Features

Real presence, not another meeting screen

Everything works through the distance between avatars — like in a real office. And the microphone always joins muted: privacy by default.

Proximity voice

Walk up and you hear each other; the volume fades with distance. Conversations start like in a hallway: no room to create, no link to send.

Booble: side conversations

One click opens a huddle with someone: inside you hear each other at 100%, the rest of the room fades to 7% — both ways. Without leaving your spot.

Screen for whoever is near

Share your screen and the people next to you see a preview instantly — a click enlarges it. People far away are not even bothered.

Away without disappearing

One button and your avatar pulls out a phone, with your sound cut. Whoever needs you gives a "knock knock" — and one click brings you back.

Call, walk to, follow

Call someone and their avatar can walk to you on its own, going around the walls. Or follow a person across the map with one click.

Rooms that truly close

Inside a room, audio from outside stops being sent — it is not volume zero, it is a closed door. Meetings with no leaks.

Your character, your way

A layered pixel-art avatar builder — body, eyes, outfit and hair — with an animated preview before you join.

A space of your own

Whoever creates the world decorates it: furniture, plants, sofas — and everything is saved. Reactions, a soundboard and chat bring the place to life.

The hallway chat, back again

Two sentences without booking a meeting

In a crowded room, click someone and open a booble — a violet circle wraps around you, a little whisper bubble appears over each head, and the whole room becomes background noise. Stepped out of the circle? The conversation dissolves on its own, like in the real world.

  • From any distance: your avatar walks there on its own
  • No permission to ask, no room to create, no link
  • Everyone sees that you are talking — nobody hears what

How it works

Live in three steps

  1. 1

    Open it in the browser

Nothing to install. Pick your name, build your character and walk in with the keyboard or a double-click.

  2. 2

    Walk up and talk

Voice and screen work by proximity, with high-quality audio. The microphone only turns on when you turn it on.

  3. 3

    Create your company's world

With a login, each company has its own worlds: invite-only access, private rooms, persistent decoration and saved positions.

Furniture editor open: a palette with plants, sofas and counters, items placed on the map and a translucent preview following the cursor
Decorate the office: whatever you place is saved for everyone.
KodaPlace's entry screen with the pixel-art character builder: animated preview and arrows to swap body, eyes, outfit and hair
Build your avatar layer by layer, with an animated preview.

FAQ

What everyone asks

Do I need to install anything?

No. KodaPlace runs entirely in the browser — each person gets a link, picks a name and a character, and walks in.

Does it work in any browser?

In current browsers (Chrome, Edge, Firefox). Microphone and screen sharing require a secure connection (HTTPS) — which is how KodaPlace is already served.

What about microphone privacy?

You always join muted — joining, reloading the page or dropping and coming back leave the microphone off, and only your click turns it on. Audio goes through a dedicated media server (LiveKit), and closed rooms stop sending the audio of whoever is outside.

How many people fit in a world?

The world's owner sets the capacity. Proximity voice makes audio scale naturally: you only hear the people near you.

How does my team get started?

Book a demo with the button at the top — in half an hour we set up your company's world with you, and the team joins the same day.
